HERO for efficient ultrapure water production

For water operations requiring ultrapure water and recovery ratios >90 percent, the HERO* process from GE can help. HERO* uses three steps before reverse osmosis (RO) to remove dissolved solids and other contaminants:

• Cation exchange to reduce average hardness leakage to <0.1ppm (100 ppb)
• Degasification to cut dissolved CO2 to <10 ppm, reducing scale buildup
• Increased pH in the RO feed to achieve operational benefits
